1. No Place Limits

2. Income Caps Removed

Previously, high-income earners could be excluded. The new scheme removes income limits, meaning more Australians can access the support they need to buy their first home.

3. Higher Property Price Caps

The updated scheme reflects current property values with increased price caps:

  • Melbourne & Geelong: Up to $950,000
  • Regional Victoria: Up to $650,000

4. Regional Guarantee Merged

The Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee is now fully merged into the main First Home Guarantee. This simplifies access for buyers outside major cities and ensures everyone can benefit from the scheme without separate applications.

5. No Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI)

The scheme continues to help first home buyers avoid costly LMI, reducing upfront costs and making homeownership more attainable.
